We've had a male and a female Russian tortoise (Probably both imported) for several years. They live in a fenced area about 25 feet on a side. The male spends a lot of time chasing the female around. This spring he was actually making the connection. My wife found an egg lying on the ground, so we put it in our incubator. Unfortunately, there was no success. September, she found a tiny hatchling, two days later we had three. They have been kept in a 13 1/2" X 22" lidded plastic tub with a heat lamp and a uv lamp. When they were found the weighed about 17 grams each. After 15 weeks they are 2-3/4" long and average 91 grams each and are eating small vegetable greens and water softened small Mazuri L S Tortoise Diet pellets like little pigs. Is this the normal growth rate?
