Need help identifying a tortoise that I rescued

Russian???

I already have a sulcata and it doesn't look similar.

Greetings...where in the world are you located? That will help folks properly ID your tortoise. Those gloves look they are ready to tackle dinosaurs! :)

Pretty nice looking, possibly someone's escapee!

You've got a juvenile Desert Tortoise there.

I typed this up for russians, but care is the same. Add more grass to the diet for a DT.

Soak it early and often. Most of the care advice you see for this species is too dry, and it will eventually lead to the tortoise's death one way or another. They need water.

They are legal to keep, but you'll need to get a permit from the CTTC chapter nearest you. Its free and easy. They cannot be bought or sold. Only given away for free.

Be sure to house it separately from your sulcata. The two should never have contact or even share the same space at different times.
