Here are some pics as I promised
As you can see the pyramiding is pretty bad but she is getting good light and diet now :)
She has been drinking a lot during her soaks!
I named her Misty :D

I am a little worried about the dip towards her tail end on her shell, you can see it in this pic

I got her off of craigslist, her owner really liked her but did not have time for her,
There were obviously some key components missing in her diet and she han no uvb lighting, But thinks are better for her now :)
We will be visiting the vet this weekend

pretty severe.. MBD im sure.
My first rescue looked like that as well. He has grown and loves to eat, but growth is slow. I was told that he may never grow or his life will be cut short as well. :-(
but doing great.. Walks much better now, lives outside 24-7 with heated box. Loves Mazuri..
When he first came, there was give in the shell when you pushed on it.. not anymore. :)

Sulcatas seem to be the most common to be neglected :( or just easy to get for anyone,

Should I do anything special with her diet right now? She is eating a variety of greens, all calcium dusted?
She is currently soaking and everytime I look up she is drinking :D

TNT (total nutrition for tortoises) is a good product to have and use. Carolina pet supply sells it.

Wow poor thing. Definite MBD. Hopefully someone more knowledgable than myself can offer some advice!
Thank goodness she's with you!

Well tonight I am going to bed with a feeling of closure :)
She drank A LOT of water today and just before lights out, she was eating her spring mix that had all been dusted with calcium, :D

After a long day for the two of us, we can finally get some good rest, she got a head start on me 2 hours ago!:D

I hope it doesn't happen, but don't be surprised if you see her pass a few bladder stones. Mine passed a few about a week after I got her. She was more active after they were passed.. Sucks when the care they receive causes them so many problems..
