Looking for a tortoise

I'm looking to adopt a tortoise for my brother who recently is recovering from anxiety and depression. He has been talking and watching alot of videos about tortoises and I would love to get him one to cheer him up more. I'm in Adelanto ca.

I can see you're in California. How much space do you have indoors and out?

We have large backyard with grass for grazing and my brother is also a pro at building things so he can build any type of enclosure. Like I said he has been researching this like crazy.

So something like a Sulcata might be possible... Or if the backyard isn't particularly big perhaps a Russian (Sulcatas grow rapidly into 200lb bulldozers)
