Is my tortoise a male or female?

I have a Sulcata Tortoise and I was told it's a girl. Just wanna be sure.

Please post a good clear picture of the underside of your tortoise including the tail.

We also need to know its Straight Carapace Length. Here's how to measure it

They all look female until nearing maturity so we may not be able to help, but we'll have a go

The photo is a bit blurry, but I can say that she is far too small to sex.

She will continue to look female for another few years yet

Regardless of the quality of the picture, the tortoise is far too small to say whether it's male or female. You'll likely have to wait a few years yet to be sure!

Feel free to post, we like pictures but like was said its way to early to know. I have a 2 year old Sulcata that's over 10" and we still don't know if it's male or female.

I'm on my phone. It wont let me upload. I have to email them to someone. Some guy at a pet store told me it was a girl. I named her Morla from the Never Ending Story after the turtle on there.

The guy at the pet store is guessing and he can't know. He has a 50% chance of begin correct though!

Usually you can tell when they are 3-4 years old and 12-14". Prior to that its just a guess. Some take even longer to be sure of...

Either way I'm happy with my tortoise.s been doing great. Super active, eats like a horse, and I'm happy.
