Do I have to build a cover for my indoor tortoise table?

Its 6x3 and its for a redfoot...

If I don't will there be any issues?

Thanks for your time :)

You do not have to at all. It does however help keep the humidity in and helps keep your little friend from climbing out.

I went open topped for quite a while and now I have a big piece of plexiglass over half the enclosure. It doesn't look as nice as if I had built a top, but it's so dry in my area that I needed to do it.

Ok well I actually live in a tropical climate and its usually like 70% humidity... But it is the winter and its starting to dry out...

I am going to have a bunch of edible plants in there, so I'm hoping that will keep up the humidity.
