Is his growth ok?

Here a pic from the seller a few days a got him last april, 1st pic,just 2.5" or a bit less, 2nd now he's 4", is it too fast? Or slow? 3rd pic close up of carapace, thanks

That's a beautiful looking tort. His shell is so smooth. I've heard they grow faster as young in's.

I'm not a redfoot expert but your tortoise looks smooth and healthy. I'm sure the growth rate falls into a good range, but as long as it is active, eats well, and has smooth shell growth, I would continue to do what you've been doing

You're looking spot on to the 2" a year for the first couple years (obviously give or take a little)! Nice and smooth! Mines sitting about 4.25" after getting him at 2.5" a little over a year ago, so I guess I'm a little behind the curve lol
