I got a tortoise and I don't know what speicies it is can someone help

heres a couple pictures of it, I found him in my backyard my dog almost ate him :) i live in portland, or so i don't know if he's native. heres some pictures of him.

Your little tortoise is NOT native to the U.S. In fact, Oregon doesn't have any native tortoise species. May I suggest that you try to find this tortoise's owner? Someone has paid close to $100 for him and is probably heartsick to have lost him. The tortoise is commonly called a Russian tortoise. Usually the Newspapers allow free Found ads. And you can post fliers on the telephone poles around your neighborhood. In the meantime, they eat broad leaf weeds or if you want to feed grocery store greens, you can use endive, escarole, mustard greens, turnip greens, etc. Not lettuce...no nutritive value in lettuce.

I agree with eveything Yvonne has said. and the Russian tortoise is most defiantly female,
