As long as they don't get cold and damp, yes, they're good! I think they look cool, and I bet your torts will too. It's really up to them to decide if they're okay or not. They won't use them if they aren't suitable.

I would be concerned that your tort could move the log off the 2 x 4 causing the full weight of the log to trap his body causing suffocation. If you could anchor the log I think it would be a good hide.

I'm second on this. That is the first thing pop in my mind when I saw the photo.

If the tort uses them ...then yes, good hides and I also third the securing the logs suggested as well....
