Ya I'm done giving my advice to people who won't stop and listen. Sure they can use a 50/50 soil/sand mix but I don't agree with it. Sand all together is bad no matter the species. All I raise are desert species and I never use sand lol

I've only had sand in a section of my pancake tortoises indoor enclosure, this was mixed with some peat moss for the water holding capability and was developed strictly as an experimental area to try and encourage egg laying. It didn't work from what I remember.
