Hello. My name is noel. My family and I found a sulcata tortoise about a month ago. We have adopted him since we could not locate the rightful owners. My kids fell in love with him right away. Any way We live in PHX, AZ so our weather is pretty hot and dry usually (except for the monsoon months). I have been reading numerous articles on feeding dos and donts. I have found that this forum has been helpful. I have so many questions, but I will post those in the appropriate threads.

Welcome to the forum! We would love to see pics of your sulcatas enclosure to further help you with the care of this amazing animal. @Tom has great care sheets and can help you with care and your questions.

here are a few pics of our backyard, where tank lives. we are planning on planting grass back there next month. right now he has been feeding off the little grass we have, and I bought him a barrel of grass hay. however he stopped eating the hay 2 days ago, ( I think it has mold from the rain)

Welcome to the forum. We have lots of sulcata keepers that are from AZ so you will be right at home here. I like the walled in yard. Tank will use all of it.

Welcome. I do not know if the food for Sulcata's is the same as for desert tortoises. I feed ours organic kale and organic spring salad plus letting them graze in the weeds outside their enclosure. They thrive on this.
