Feeding time

Now, before everyone jumps on me, they usually eat a weed diet, but i could not get my hands on any yesterday, and my most recent load of weeds are not quite fully grown, so i had to make do with salad.

Oh, and excuse the dirty water, muddy paws all round :lol:

Very cool torties. Nice set up too, whats with all those bins of dirt? Is that so it is easy to clean or for egg laying?

Its nice to see that your tortoises are becoming "humanized" Makes for a more enjoyable "pet"

May I suggest buying a small roll of sheet plastic or an old shower curtain to protect your tort table instead of all the bins? I spread out the plastic on the tort table, then fold the corners nice and smooth and staple them up the sides towards the top of the plastic. Keeps the moisture off the wood and the tortoises can't mess it up and get under it.

The bins are because i usually have a choice of substrate for them, a few soil and sand trays, a bark tray, a wood chippings tray, a hemp tray etc for some variety, but my supplies were low, so they had to make do with soil and sand in all of them.

I find hand feeding is a good way to bond with the torts, they seem to enjoy it. They seem to be more interested in the food i am holding than the stuff i put down to them, so i can make them work for their food a wee bit. Plus it means i can get some lovely tortie tongue pictures.
