I have 2 babies hatched 18th-21st October this year, iv had them 3 weeks now and they are doing very well.
I was just wondering when does the egg tooth fall off/re-absorb. They have 2x 20min soaks a day and eat their weeds off a piece of slate.

Many thanks

Helps them peirce the egg to get out. Looks like a tiny horn just above their mouth x

I once had a baby turtle shipped to me with its egg tooth still attached to it's beak this was a few years ago though.

They do seem to have gotten smaller but I read they go after a month of hatching. Im not overly worried just wondered if there is something I need to do

The egg tooth will simply be gone one day. Don't mess with it. I would take as many pictures of them with it as possible though because when they are big you can go back. Like looking at baby pictures of human kids.
