Dont have a tort yet but getting my homework done

Hi there I am a 28 year old carer who has always fancied a tortoise, I currently have three turtles and having lost my guinea pigs recently I decided now its time to get what I always wanted.
I want advice I have a table in the making but some people say vivs are better?
Also lighting what uva/uvb level is best?
Fancy a hermann or horsefeild.

A viv is better for hatch lings, tables are usually better for adults, of course I have 3 russians so I say russian but I might be a little prejudiced.

My opinion is that a table is better than a viv for Horsfield and Hermanns... they need a lot od f space and while a viv is OK to start, they rapidly outgrow them.

Depends what size the viv is. Easily possible to make or buy a viv the same size as a table and retain the advantage of better heat / humidity control.

Vivarium = glass box

In the UK a vivarium is usually a wooden box with glass doors, we tend to call the glass ones terrariums.
