Earlier today I put all 4 of my Hermanns in the bathtub for their soak. I was short on time and it seemed rather innovative.

They are all under a year.

At the shallow end the water was barely covering their toes, but as with most bathtubs, the area near the drain is deepest and was over their heads (maybe 5cm deep).

I was utterly shocked as 1 by 1, I watched them wade into the deeper water and start to swim!!!!! No water wings or anything!!!!!
Worried that I may have to make a rescue my eyes were glued to them the entire time. After a few minutes, I took them out, worried that they might take on water.

They seemed to enjoy it though. Has anybody else seen their torts swim?

except for california desert tortoises who sink likes rocks, the higher domed ones seem to be the better swimmers.
