So i was wondering what is the best and most effective way to clean out substrate in the enclosure?

Ok i dont know if this is a dumb question but What is the best and most effective way to clean out the substrate in the enclosure? Or how do you guys clean it out to make if poop free and clean ?

I spot clean. If I see poop, I remove it. Sometimes they walk through it before I see it...I let the rollie pollies take care of those messes.

Other than spot cleaning - picking up poop as I see it, and picking out the old food around the feeding station, I don't clean the substrate. I use the same substrate for a whole season. I only have tortoises in indoor habitats during winter time. Once spring rolls around the they go back outside, I put the substrate in my flower beds and start with fresh stuff next winter.

Also, if you are soaking daily, they usually poop in the soak water, so the enclosure stays clean.
