Hi all.

What is the best stuff to clean tortoise enclosure with? I have been using a damp cloth with no chemicals on it.

Thanks.

It depends on many things.

I like to use ammonia, but it MUST be used outside, and away from people, no animals may be present.

Others who are well aware of bio-active cleaning agents have suggested peroxide with rubbing alcohol, and that to is very good.

Peroxide with vinegar also works well.

Bleach works well, but I don't like how harsh it is on my hands, even gloved the glove collar on my wrist will welt up with bleach.

I have used UVC lamps in hoods to disinfect, but that is dangerous and needs to be done with great care.

This is a good thread http://www.tortoiseforum.org/thread-57360.html

All and all hot soapy water goes a long way to cleaning most things.

What are the specific of your cleaning task(s)?

I like using rubbing alcohol spray. I spray then let it dry for an hour and rinse.

I just use water'd down bleach, then I scald it with our steaming hot water many, many times with the spray'r. To make sure its gone and the smell is gone also.
