I got these guys earlier in the week. They were being housed improperly and had huge overgrown beaks and toenails. They have had the first round of beak and nail trimmings. They are both eating and doing really well now.
I thought they were a 3 toed (female) and an Ornate (male). Now I'm not so sure. I have had a few people on another board say he might be a Desert or Florida Box. Pretty sure male, he has red eyes and a concave plastron. He is a bit over 4" SCL. I have a female Ornate and they just don't look quite the same.
The big one is (pretty sure!!) a female. I was told 3 toed, but any chance she could be a Gulf Coast? She is big (about 5.5"SCL) and looks old, her shell is so rough, it has holes and chew marks in it.
I have no idea the original origins of either.
So here they are. let me know what they are!!

The first box turtle is a male Desert box turtle, Terrapene ornata luteola
and the second one is a female Three-toed box turtle, T.carolina triunguis. I have a 6 inch SCL female Three-toed here. :)
