Broken bulb

Hello all, today my exoterra bulb broke . It was a heat and uvb bulb. I havw looked online and the soonest a new one will get here wil lbe just under 1 week. I have extra heat bulbs and spare light bulbs , i have plugged both those in and the heat is correct and its bright ebough and he cant get near any bulbs

Is this okay as his new bulb wont be here for about a week

How old is your tort? If the weather outside is warm you can keep him/her there. Also if you keep him/her outside in the sun for about 30 min a day it’ll be more than enough UV

There will be no ill effects if your tortoise doesn’t have a proper light bulb provided that the heat is correct. Also, as the previous poster has mentioned, getting it outside in the sunshine even for just 30 minutes a week would supply all the UV he’ll need.

He is 2 years old and his new bulb will be here early next week . Its is just above 20°c just now in Scotland so i can take him out for an hour a day usually
