Boxy bathtub

I wanted to share my new box turtle bathtub, it's a large straight-sided ceramic souffle dish. I paid $2 for it at a thrift store, and it works very well for keeping the water warm. I like to fill it with very hot water and let it stand for 5-10 minutes and then dump it and refill with just the right temperature.

The turtles can't see through the sides and they don't try to climb out, but they certainly seem to enjoy their baths.

If you want find you want to keep the water the right temp even longer, get a larger dish fill it up with water about 5-10 degrees warmer than the "bath" water then submerge the bath dish in it. That's how I soak my two baby easterns while I get ready for work in the winter.
