Some know that my baby had eaten stones while grazing, and he was compacted for weeks. Last week I though he was over the worse of it until he started crying out in pain yesterday. With the advise of many here, Beasty Boy was able to pass most of the stones you see on the x-rays except for the really large one in his bladder. It's the size of a golf ball, and he can't pass it. The new x-rays he took today shows that he still has the bladder stone and it's been compacting his bowel movement considerably. I can't stand to hear his cries when he's straining to urinate. I was given antibiotics to inject in him everyday for 10 days. The vet is going to consult with the wildlife specialist on reptiles and recommend where we go from there. I fear he'll have to have his plastron cut open in order to remove the stone. I can't understand how this could have happened since he has always had 2-3 soaks daily, plenty of water and healthy spring mix with occasional collards, turnips greens, and kale. He had plenty of exercise in the park and on my lawn along with at least one hour of sunshine. He never seemed to be dehydrated and his skin always looked moist. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what did you do to correct the problem? Sibi
