I have a 100 watt basking light bulb but I think it's too hot but am not sure. I can feel the heat throughout the room too. I have a 75 watt bulb also but didn't think it was warm enough. Help!

You want the tortoise's habitat to be room temperature on one end (70-75F), 100 or so directly under the light and around 80F at the other end. if you can't get a gradient, then the habitat is too small. You can raise or lower the light to reach the temp you're looking for.

Don't guess, get a heat gun and a thermometer to get the correct temps. Then you will know what to do if anything or we can then help you. Without accurate numbers, your guess is as good as ours.
