After 70 days, the first Russian tortoise of the year hatched! There were two eggs in this clutch, but the other one, after candling, has much slower development (fertile for sure) which I attribute to the varying temps in different parts of the incubator. It is showing similar development to the egg laid a month later, which is strange so only time will tell. But I hope you all enjoy the pics of this healthy little baby!
