MONSTRO! really gets down when it comes time to work his burrow...even the entrance gets the royal treatment! I suspect he's gonna hit 100 pounds before he's ten years old! Would love to know...those of you with hundred pounders...how long did it take them to get there! Photos shot about 8:00 last night!

WalkingRock hit 100 lbs before I came to TFO, so that means he was 10 or 11 when he topped the Century mark. Right now he is 15 years and 135lbs. BTW, he has never started digging! he is quite content with his Bunker and a couple of very shallow sitting spots.
I actually encouraged the burrow...it keeps him away from the babies for the most part! :D

On the other hand.... his shell is like a Classic Car that has been sitting in a Garage..... pristine condition and not a scratch on it!:p

It's endive and radicchio for MONSTRO! today! He emerges from the shadows and follows the aroma...or perhaps it's just my movement...or whatever...to his LABOR DAY banquet!

After a soak in the sprinklers, MONSTRO! takes a stroll around the yard...and settles into a cactus pad!

MONSTRO! just loves to soak...until he's ready to get out! I turned my back for about 5-10 minutes and when I returned, he wasn't in the pool! He's the first one to climb out...not even Diesel was able to accomplish this...and he was 29" and weighed 127#

Haven't been around much in the past year or so! Been busy with the giant legless creatures here! But, a few interesting things turned up and I thought I'd share! Found out that MONSTRO! is indeed a Sudan. Initially, I had inquired about Brad from the breeder and she said she spoke with him...but NEVER acquired anything from him! However, her mother told me that the dam and sire that produced MONSTRO! came from John Ruiz! For those that aren't familiar, Brad and John were (are) business partners. Turns out that John and Brad were moving surplus giants 30 years ago! Talk is cheap...so I'll let the photos tell the rest of the story!

MONSTRO!
turned 8 a couple months back! He measures 24" and weighs 85 pounds!

I inquired about the 24" specimen doing battle with one of ATC's Sudans! I don't know anybody with 24" animals to compare...and I'm curious about the weights of Sudans vs Mali, Senegalese, etc at the same length! Andy got back to me and said that this specimen to the left is only about 50-60 pounds!

Today MONSTRO! turns 9! He's a hair under 26" and weighs 96 pounds! He has been the BEST buddy to everyone in the household...human and canine alike! Here are a couple photos from this morning...a little basking...a little cactus...a little tuna...a romp through the sprinklers....topped off with a head of radicchio! Happy Birthday buddy! Monstro emerged a little earlier than usual...so we hung for a bit...an hour to be precise! After catching a shot of him on the lawn, he moved to his favorite shady spot! I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story...

Beautiful, he's grown so much since I saw him last. Do you have a weight on him?
