I just Love your enclosure. Thanks for sharing. What's some of your ground coverage?
Wanted to update this thread...
All the animals were successfully hibernated in a dedicated fridge from mid November to mid April. Thanks to the members and information on this site for all the help regarding this.
The spring weather has been all over the place. One day the turtles are active, the next everyone is dug in tight. Anyways... here are a bunch of photos of the pen and it's occupants.
The green frog overwintered in the small pond. He was up in February for a short time when temps reached into the low 80s. My step son named him Kevin. Turns out he is a male, as I've seen him calling several times this spring

Old Shelley in mid April. This was the first time he hibernated in at least 12 years. Hope another season outdoors wears down that beak...

The enclosure in mid May. Everything is growing well, with the exception of my Japanese Maple. It sprouted buds, but still no leaves. Don't think it's coming back. The dead 'tree' on the far right is a weed from last year. I've already pulled it out

This may be the last time I upload any pictures of this setup. We are moving. The new property is perfect for what I want to do with my turtles. I will have to start on the new enclosure immediately, starting this upcoming holiday weekend. I will be able to give this species a little more room, and a larger water feature. I'm looking forward to it all coming together, but not all the work! We are keeping the current property, so I will have several weeks to get everything set for them. I'm hoping they take the transition well, but only time will tell.
Thanks for looking everyone! Take care now....
I know this is totally off the subject, but that was a really entertaining post. Thanks for sharing it.Must be something in the air, I just found this thread regarding electric wires: http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/raccoons.145472/#post-13698254
Thanks for sharing the story yvonne.
I found one three toed floating-cruising around my rather deep koi pond is that normal? She seemed quite happy and none worse for the ware. I did remove her and release her. Wish I would have gotten a pic now.
Got started later than I wanted, but got most of the tough part done. This picture is a few days old.
You learn something new everyday. I didn't know they could swim. That's the first one I have found in my pond. I only see them in shallow water or marsh areas. That or on roadsYes normal. they love water.
