Hi everyone I'm very new to tortoises. "KING KOOPA" is my first tortoise and I worry for every little thing I think I'm paranoid or something !!:(
I have noticed that his growth rings are different then when he was younger there slightly higher then before is this normal? I bath him daily.. He has a water bowl in his habitat. He is very very active. He eats SUPER well.. I take him out side every day for 25-30 min.
He's 2 months old weighs 100 grams. ImageUploadedByTortForum1386014257.711623.jpg ImageUploadedByTortForum1386014272.911973.jpg ImageUploadedByTortForum1386014328.035133.jpg

Everything looks ok in the pics.

Does he have a humid hide? What is the ambient humidity in the enclosure? Do you spray his shell with water several times a day? How are you housing him? What are your four temps? What substrate is he on? All of these things will help to grow him smooth and healthy.

Its when the new growth is lower than the surrounding scute that its starting to pyramid. I don't know why that new growth is so high, but it looks pretty neat.

Is it possible for their shell to get to much moisture? Causing expansion or bubbling like that?

New growth sometimes "swells" when they are properly hydrated.
Nothing wrong with that, in fact it's ideal.
My leopard babies new growth does the same thing. It's most noticeable when they are tiny.

Yep. Ditto. All my hatchlings do that now. They never did it years ago when I used the old dry methods. It is also much more noticeable in zoomed in close up photos.

I little higher would be a little better, and a humid hide is really helpful in preventing dehydration and pyramiding.
