I am moving my Russian Tortoise from a 40 gallon tank to a much larger kiddie pool. Based on research, coco coir and topsoil seem like a good option. Combined would these both be a good option?
For the past couple of weeks I've noticed what appears to be fruit flies in my Greek Tortoise's cage. They seem to mostly hang out in his water dish. IS this a good or a bad thing? If bad, how can I get rid of them?
I recently got a Russian Tortoise and I have been feeding him a kale and watermelon mixture everyday. I read that they like a variation in their meals and I am wondering what else would be a good meal for him.

Thank you for letting me know. He should have no medical issues. His access to water and the temperature of his habitat is good. I purchased him about 12 hours ago, I think the change from the store to my house may be what's causing his behavior.
