    Trying to escape!!

Thanks for your insight on this!! We really don't get any seasons here, just a more rain during the winter/spring and a slight temperature increase in the months of summer. Nothing really dramatic has happened recently. My RT was a rescue from the humane society and I asume that he was purchased...

Thanks, the enclosure is about 4x6. What type of site barriers do you use? I got a few potted plants and some rocks in there now.

    Trying to escape!!

Hi, just wanted to get some feedback if anyone has had this experience? So, my adult male RT has been in his outdoor enclosure for about 3 months now (total time I owned him), and just recently he has been trying to escape by trying to climb the walls or dig. He has been so fine and happy I...

Thanks, it should be around for a couple more days. It hasn't been as bad as past times, so I just left him out and he seems to be doing fine.

    High humidity & Volcanic Haze

Ok so... The weather here in Hawaii will be changing in a day, and this is going to be the first time I will be experiencing this with my Russian who is kept outdoors. The humidity is going to be anywhere from 80 to 100% for the next week. And temps from mid 80 to low 90's. Half of my...

    Cactus consumption help.

Hi, I was wondering how often can you feed your Russian the pads? Do they give the same effect as aloe vera? Also, I read somewhere that the larger pads isn't all that great to feed since it contains a higher level of oaxilic acids? So should only the newer pads be offered, and for the fruit of...

    Temporary outdoor enclosure feedback needed.

Thanks. I'm waiting for my RT seed mix to come in so I can start growing it in some grass trays, then I can just leave in the enclosure for him to graze naturally. I have quite a few weeds growing in the grass but nothing I can identify as safe. I could say one draw back of living here.

    Temporary outdoor enclosure feedback needed.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind about raising it more. For now I'll probably put more potted plants on top. I wish we had more edible weeds here. I'm having some trouble identifying the ones in my yard, with hawaii's list online.

    Temporary outdoor enclosure feedback needed.

Hi there, looking for some pointers on my temp enclosure. At first I had my tort only in the gravel area with the chain link fence which is about a 4x5 area. I had the gate open and had blocked off a small grassy area for him there, but he got into too much trouble with that setup trying to...

Are young leafy sprouts just as bad.

I'm currently growing some collards, kale, and mustard greens for my RT. Since these are in the brassica family, I know they should be feed as part of a varied diet. So does anyone know if the young sprouts contain the same level of nutrition as mature leaves? Also, Would anyone recommend that...
