    Why is she freaking out?

So 3 days ago I got a female hermans tort who had been tanked with a male her whole life because the previous owner believed she was a male too. But her little stubby tail and lack of shell flaring alluded differently. Well, now for the past 3 hours shes been running nonstop and biting our other...

    Cat and Tortoises?

I've had cats nearly all my life. Right now I have, Mufasa, June, and Mama Cat. When I first brought my tort, Tiny Tim, home the cats didn't notice him. Then one day I let Tim explore the kitchen after a bath and each cat walked right up and sniffed him. Mama Cat was shy and ran away after her...

I soak him for 15 minutes 2 to three times a day and only a small amount of white urate has been produced since treatment but there was no urate or poop before and extreme lethargy before treatment. Now he's got snots but at least he wants to eat and has produced any urates. And thanks for the...

    Something is wrong! (edema)

I really hope it does too he hates the needles And the only symptoms of anything we saw before we took him to the vet were that he refused to eat was having troubles pottying and then the bloating. Over the course of 4 days he started bloating which the vet said was air? They picked him up and...

    Something is wrong! (edema)

So I've posted about tiny tim before and have since changed his bedding to coir and he eats spring mix and carrots and stuff and no spinach and I gave him cucumbers a few days ago mostly for the water content because his previous owners had never bathed him or gave him water. He has an obvious...

    Not yet over newbie paranoia!

So i've posted before (several times) about my newly adopted tiny Tim. His previous owners had no idea what they were doing. I've had him for going on two weeks. He has started to use his back legs a little bit I'll see step here or there but I've come to notice he barely moves at all. He sleeps...

    Say it isn't so!

The new growth is cool i get it is just he has strange little white dots that dont come up as well on camera as they do in real life and he was owned by negligent people since he was about 6mnths old but is now about 5 years old [hr] And one of his scutes is peeling in a thick dry brittle layer

My poor Tiny Tim! (drags back legs)

Thanks i'll get more coir and do it over again but does the fact that his bowl isnt in the sand mean anything? He doesnt get any sand in his food or coir either? I mean i just went and bought all this stuff which was a litttle more expensive then was expected and the fact that we drove 5 hours...

    Say it isn't so!

As I was bathing tiny tim today and I noticed he's had a few weird spots on his shell. And dr. Google of course always shows the worst thing possible first. My poor Tiny Tim! (drags back legs)

RE: My poor Tiny Tim! Well the lack of calcium and the home depot wood chips are both things that would cause metabolic bone disease(not actually a disease) which would make his legs not work and his shell develop wrong also. Its like he couldn't walk anywhere because the wood chips were too...
