Have been using a sandstone paver (3/4"thick) as a food plate.
I like it a lot because it's keeping the nails and beak trim.

However urine gets soaked up by the stone like its a sponge and I am concerned about bacteria growth ect.
I've heard that baking such stones in the oven is a bad idea (explode).

Is bleaching the stone really safe to do? - seems risky

Personally I would not use bleach I think all you really need is soap, water, a scrub brush & some elbow grease

Crazy i know, but you could easily put a 12x12 paver in your dishwasher. It's a good way to flush a lot of hot water at the soiled paver, coupled woth high drying temps.
