Hey I have a question so I've read a bunch of different articles on what to get him, and they are totally contradicting, can I please get like 10 things that are ok to feed speed, lettuce of any kind does not stay good in my fridge very long, so what other fruits and veggies can I fed him. And what should I absolutely not feed him. Thanks all

You can plant Tesudo Mix found at Tortoisesupply.com. Mine loves the stuff, its like tort crack or something. I have a few growing in containers and I need to plant more! I feed spring mix right now because I suck at finding weeds. Radicchio is a favorite, endive, escarole. Stay away from spinach. Kale is good, dandelion is good, plantain (the weed not the banana)

I just planted the Tesudo Mix three days ago and checked on it this morning and it is sprouting all over the place! I think I might have seeded too heavily, it's moving the entire top layer of dirt off my containers. Learning process!

Ms Bowers, I have a 3 month old RT. I was able to find dandelion at our grocery, which she favors over anything else. Endive is probably second on that list, followed by watercress. She took a bit of kale the first couple days, but now it's all mostly rejected for dandelion. I'm currently trying to mix in the cactus also available at Tortoisesupply.com, but she's trickier than me so far about eating around it.

For anyone interested in growing your own, I found these online after some research and ordered - they haven't all arrived yet but I'm sure they will:

Hey I've lost my posts, I am wondering about what is ok for him to eat, I've done alot of reading and I find that when I find a list of things he can eat the next one I find says to not feed that stuff to him. I got the pet store food pellets for him and he does not like them, so I'm wondering if anyone can give he a list of like 5-10 things he can eat so that I can rotate thru them, thanks for all the help

Tom's list in the Russian or sulcata section gives a lot of things that are safe. The key is a wide variety overtime. If you have to buy grocery store stuff this time of year go with escarole or endive, dandelion leaves, turnip greens mustard greens collard greens, my grocery store also carries cactus year round.
