    Apple trees and Nectarine trees

We just picked up the tortoise and brought him home. The people who were watching him for us have us a list of toxic plants known to humans and animals in all the stuff. One of them is nectarine trees and apple trees and his own is built underneath both. It also said that the pits lf the...

    Why not share your location???

It isn't the people posting that you need to worry about...it's the people stalking the forum (like myself) who can be the creepy ones :)

    Wheres the ark?

I just saw a news story about you guys and how bad it is over there. Good luck! Doesn't look like it will be drying out anytime soon. Have you had to deal with the flooding that is going on in some parts?

    oils?

Are these oils necessary or is it more of an aesthetic thing? And is it mostly for young tortoises or adults too?

    Sad Situation

You absolutely made the right decision. Putting him through the procedure would be painful and would cause him suffering...and it wouldn't even have been certain that he would make it. And for him to live a life without his leg would be hard and he wouldn't understand. I'm sorry for your loss...

    Outdoor Humidity question

I would be worried about keeping such a little guy outside because they can be so sensitive. If something should happen to your heat source in the middle of a cold night, you wouldn't find out until morning.

    Need some help with measurements

That more than helps. Thank you so much. I'm going to start working on his home tomorrow and you never realize all the little stuff you never thought of until right before you start working!

    Need some help with measurements

I'm not sure if any of you remember but I posted a while back about taking in a sulcata. It turned out that the lady decided she wanted to keep him, but now he is too big for her to handle. I will be picking him up when she is back in town next month but until then she is unavailable. First...

    heat rock

That's true, but it would eliminate the need to replace the entire substrate again. Only having to buy an inexpensive bulb is a much easier fix.

    heat rock

What if you used those wire cages that go around the bulb? It could possibly protect the bulb from whatever flies at it next time.

    Pellets in diet?

Good to know, thanks. The prices are so ridiculously overpriced. Even a bag of hay at pet smart is 10 but if I go to a feed store, an entire bale is 15.

    Pellets in diet?

I was thinking about that after I posted. The containers they sell are usually pretty small. Thanks, I'll just do that.

    Pellets in diet?

Ohh good find. I will be going to PETCO today and see what they have. Hopefully I won't need to always order it online.

    Pellets in diet?

Great, thank you. I will need to keep my eye out for those. I might need to go online though...if I do, which one do you prefer more?
