The only thing mid recommend is maybe a ledge or something at the bottom of the plexiglass, the condensation may leak onto the floor. Be careful painting the tortoises shell too. Hopefully it's latex non toxic paint. Painting the scutes is ok, but in between the scutes where new growth comes in at the chemicals can weep into the fresh keratin layer and possibly harm the little guy. Other than that looks good to me.
Yeah he eats grass all day, he also nibbles on the other plants but he really loves the grass, he doesn't eat all his "food" from his plate like he used to anymore, after I planted the grass he started grazing and only eats about 1/4 of his veggies and cactus but that's fine, he poops a lot daily so that means he is eating enough grass, if he is happy then I'm ok with it.Wow, that's really nice. He's a little cutie. Nail polish will get old and flake off over time
I'm loving the grassy area, does he eat from it?
Yeah I'll dig them a bit deeper, thanks.I think it looks really good. If you sink the food and water dish down in the substrate it is easier for him to get in n out. Safer too. I love the look of plants directly in the enclosure. Nicely done!
Ah very good. That should all work out nicely then, don't want you to have wet carpet. The paint will flake off over time. He's in good hands now thenYeah I know about the paint, unfortunately he got painted with nail polish right before I got him, I don't know how long it will stay on him, hopefully not long and I hope it won't affect him but there is nothing I can do to take it off now, View attachment 103315
It's hard to see but there is a plexiglass at the bottom and another acting as a door.
Yeah the wheat grass is kind of dying on me, but luckily for me here on post at the commissary they sell it for like $2 (organic sun grown Oregon wheat grass) so I'll get another tray if that one doesn't make it and the regular grass doesn't look as alive as before because of the new dirt but I have plenty of seeds left, the army provides it free too lol all I had to do was sign my life over to them.Oh no! Did your grass whiter?? I hate it wen plants die on me
I like where you put the hide, the entrance is so fun
Seeds might work better... grass grown up in that environment, it might affect it's 'survival'Yeah the wheat grass is kind of dying on me, but luckily for me here on post at the commissary they sell it for like $2 (organic sun grown Oregon wheat grass) so I'll get another tray if that one doesn't make it and the regular grass doesn't look as alive as before because of the new dirt but I have plenty of seeds left, the army provides it free too lol all I had to do was sign my life over to them.
It's a hatchling Leo with 5 inches of substrate, I don't see how anymore than that will be beneficial. You may want to deepen the substrate.
