Today I came across both a male and female Terrapene Carolina major (commonly known as Gulf Coast box turtle), both within 20 feet of each other. I am sure they didn't come across each other but here is hoping they do!

Spring is definably making them active as I've been seeing them more often in the last few weeks.

Male (lives around my house)
and the female (lives around my neighbors house)

gorgeous! Thanks for sharing. Considering the coloration and shape, I'm guessing they're from the mississippi/alabama gulf coast region?
