Water Beneath The Substrate

Will water beneath the substrate cause any problems in a closed chamber enclosure? The substrate I'm currently using is fine grade orchid bark.

I keep mine damp enough to hold humidity where I want it. It stays pretty dry on top, but its damp underneath.

For the most part, yes your answer does. The top part stays dry, but when I dig underneath theirs water sitting underneath. I'm just concerned if that water will slowly dry or just continue to build up because of the humidity? Also, will the water build an odor or cause mold?

I also use orchid bark and in my old open topped enclosures I kept it wet all the time. It never stunk or got mold.

How fast the water wicks up and evaporates will depend on air flow, substrate depth, temperature and overall humidity in your enclosure and outside your enclosure.
