My 16 year old Testudo hermanni 700 gram female layed a very strange looking egg today. Very very long. 22 gram.
She have never layed here before, but layed unfertile eggs at here previous owner. ( They had no male but now she live with 2 males in a Group of/with several more females )
She has lived with me for 2 years now. Never hibernated at previous owner but have hibernated at my house every year.
I have HID Mega Ray lamps, Lightwave for Daylight, healthy food with calcium supplements etc etc. On spring- autumn the tortoise go outside in a large enclosure with a greenhouse with extra heating if nessesary. ( Live in Sweden )
Any ideas why? Malfunktion with the producing of the egg? Eggs?
