An Egyptian laid yesterday. This is a F1 female bred by another breeder, bred to a F1 male of mine. This is her first clutch of eggs (ever). So more F2s on the way hopefully. :D

Wow! That's pretty amazing to me. Those are two HUGE eggs from a pretty small girl. Congratulations and good luck!

Congrats Danny!! That is awesome news and great photos. What is her SCL? And how old is this F1 female?

Tim she is 4 1/8 inches and 8 years old.

Yup I've bred a couple of tortoises. :p

Yeah, I kind of noticed that too. Not to be facetious, but do female tortoises express any pain or stress during these egg-laying exertions?

Wow that poor little girl tortoise those are some huge eggs for her size. That must have hurt. :(

No, I've never seen a tortoise express pain with egg laying. It is exhausting though. :D

Actually they aren't that big. I've seen much bigger Egyptian eggs. I've also had to help a few females get large eggs out as they have become stuck half-way out.
