Hello all!
Assembly of the tort table has finished! The sealer has aired out (for a few months, whoops) and the substrate (aspen bedding) is in. My tort is now basking at about 92-95 degrees depending on the temp during the day and about 66-68 at night. I live in New England and we are coming into the colder months. My question is how should I maintain night time temp? I have been told by the local reptile store that he needs a night heat source, but have also learned here that anything above 60 is ok for him. I need help before we get into the really cold months here.

table is 6' long, 2.5' wide and 1' deep.

Oh! And I've read that a "pig blanket"? is good for sullys in the cold months.

the table is literally just a laid down bookcase with a custom stand and cypress mulch. I have not finished building his hide or transferring the vivarium toys or Leo yet. very anticlimactic at this point. Its just getting cold so I'm trying to get everything lined up so I can do some day/night heat cycles before I transfer him.
