The area around Toby's snot appears to be a reddish, brown color. I have only had him for a little over a week, so I don't know if he had it when I got him but I was wondering if this was indicative of a disease or is a warning sign. Should I be concerned? Or is this normal? Thanks!

It doesn't sound like anything to me. Does he bump his nose a lot on the wall of his habitat? If you have glass walls, they sometimes don't realize that they can't walk through the glass and bump it a lot. That's all I could think of, sorry.

No, that is very helpful! He has been bumping his head a bit =( is there anything I can do to prevent him from doing that?

Is he in glass? If so, you can tape up some paper around the outside at his eye-level. No need to cover the whole side, just eye-level all around.
