From what I found on the tortoisetable.org
Common Name: Bird of Paradise
Latin Name: Strelitzia
Family Name: Strelitziaceae
It is said that ingesting the leaves, flowers, and especially the seeds of the Bird of Paradise can cause vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness and drowsiness, although there are few documented cases of actual toxicity. In the absence of further information we would caution you not to feed this plant to your tortoise, and suggest that you remove any plants that are growing in or near the tortoise enclosure.
I just wouldn’t risk it.
Hi.
According to the tortoise table none of the plant is safe to eat, it states it can cause sickness, diarrhoea, dizziness & drowsiness.
You can download the tortoise table app from the App Store or just google it & browse. It lists loads of plants from A-Z & states if they are safe to eat, feed in moderation, feed sparingly or do not feed. It also gives explanations to why plants have been categorised as they have.
Thank you for your quick replies! It is in containers in the front yard no where near Sheldon’s home just wanted to check to see if it was safe to feed
