Hi, I'm new to the site and finding my way around. One of my biggest concerns regarding my Russian is the humidity in her tank. (I know a tank isnt the best place to keep a tortoise) The hydrometer drops down to as low as 10%, which from what I understand is too low for a russian tortoise. Does anyone have any tips on how to raise the humidity? I live in northern Massachusetts.

Welcome to the Forum!

If your Russian tortoise is full grown, humidity isn't as important as it would be if the tortoise were a baby. But, if your tortoise is full grown, an aquarium is way too small for him to live in. A better indoor choice would be a book case with the shelves removed or two plastic tubs with the ends cut out and put together. They need a lot of space.

I'm from central mass, Hello!

depending on the substrate you have you can just pour water in and mix it into the soil. My humidity has been around 30-45 lately, but I've been striving for around 60.
