The vet found Strongyloides (threadworm parasites) in her stool and she had her first treatment today (had to have the medicine fed to her via a gavage to ensure its ingestion). It was hard to watch (Its probably like watching your baby get its first shots), but she is her self and back in her homey environment now. Because the parasite is a life-cycle one, she has to go in to get her meds every two weeks for another two treatments or so (to ensure that it kills all of them that hatch out of eggs that are currently in her). Thanks for asking ... So many nice receptive people here!

What a lovely tort! Hope she finishes the meds quickly.

I recently missed what would have been a painful vet visit for me--they pried my little one's mouth open to give him liquid meds. So much easier at home to put it on his food (I made a radish green sandwich, his favorite) and watch him eat it.
