Penicillin?

The local vet (not a herp vet - we don't have one close by) is talking about giving Clementine penicillin. Will that hurt her?

Penicillin is used to treat bacterial infections. Does your vet think the tortoise has a bacterial infection? To be honest, I've never heard of giving a tortoise penicillin.

I have canceled the appointment because I was afraid it might do more harm than good.

Penicilin hurts humans when given. I don't know how torts react.
