Hello! the weeds I usually pick for my baby desert tortoise are all dying due to the frost ): I have collard greens, grassland tortoise pellets and timothy hay I can feed them, but I'm not sure thats so healthy... Is there any other greens that I could buy for them that would keep them healthy?
I have a friend that feeds her tortoise these pellets that they really like, but I'm not sure what percentage of pellets should make up there diet until the weeds grow back.

While you wait for weather to improve you can get a variety of greens from the local supermarket. If you do a nice balance of lets say..

the grassland tortoise pellets
mazuri tortoise food/pellets
spring mix (bag of lettuce mixes)
collard greens
kale
mustard greens
dandelion greens (sold at some stores)

and feed these in rotation I'm sure you'll be ok through winter.

What about cactus? I've heard a lot of good things about it and you can buy it all chopped up at the super market.
how do you post an icon photo?
