New tort, old decorations

So I'm getting a baby Russian tomorrow. I Hv the enclosure set up already, but I have some old decorations from my now deceased fat tailed gecko. I want to use the old decorations in his cage but am worried about disease. The gecko died of malnourishment, but tht was 10 yrs ago when I wasn't responsible AT ALL. I'm now more responsible. Anyways, I have the old decorations soaking in boiling water for a few min. Is tht ok or should I do more?? Plz help soon

i have cleaned old decor in a 1:10 bleach/water ratio. 1 part bleach in 10parts hot water. you can scrub the decor with this, then give it a good rinse and you should be fine.

Yes, boiling it for 10-15 minutes would sterilize it. That's how you sterilize paraphernalia for newborns so it should be good enough.
