Hello I have two musk turtles kept in a 50 gallon aquarium both full grown and about 5 years old. I have never had any problems with either of them until today I was feeding them their usual food a mix of pellets and dried srimp when i saw one of them had a large white lump on its right leg. Can anyone help me please I have no clue what it could be thanks

it doesn't look hard and immovable , i'd guess a vet needs to stick a needle in it and see what they get out of it ...... might need lanced and drained , antibiotics and possibly packed with an antibiotic ....... doesn't look like a bad spot ....... at least that's probably what i'd do .......

I'd do what Mark suggests. It might even be bot fly larva, but I doubt it. It just looks like some sort of abscess that needs lanced and drained.

Never seen that before.
Could be a number of things such as a parasite, an abscess or whatever.
But, I doubt that it’s a lethal condition for the long run.
Mud and musk turtles are incredibly tough animals that tolerate all kinds of attacks.
So keep it clean, well fed and warm until the issue resolves itself.

I thought maybe some kind of parasite eggs? Vet trip is indicated.
Please keep us updated.

No just the turtles, the lump doesnt seem to bother him at all so its leading me to belive its just a cut thats come up and will heal. If I notice him start to behave any diffrent ill take him to the vets

I would really get him to the vet sooner than later. You just don't want to take any chances, eh?
I don't like the look of it. But I am no expert.
