hello all !
I am not a tort mommmy yet but have always wanted to be ! as of the last few months I have been researching and have decided on a baby red foot tortoise! I haven't purchased it yet but was interested in tortoise supply.com for my purchase! I am in ohio and we get pretty cold winters so any input or advice on my enclosure will be appreciated! thanks!!!

welcome and good choice on the baby red as that's what i have and he's awesome tortoisesupply is a great choice and they are very knowledgeable and kind when answering question's I'd also recommend tropical torts ( a breeder on this forum) that's who i got my red from and he's doing awesome

You made a good choice with the red foot . Check out N2torts he is a well known member here on TFO . That sells some awesome cherry heads . As far as an enclosure goes if you get a hatchling a 4/2 /2 foot closed chamber will last you .

Like Mike said, closed chambers are the way to go with Reds! A 4.5'X2' has lasted me 2 years so far, and I'm only upgrading because my fiance wants something that looks nicer for our apt after we get married lol
