Tell your friend to quit tormenting the baby. Baby tortoises are prey and are pretty afraid of the big monster that keeps pushing him with its finger. If your friend wants to touch the baby, they should come at him from the front where the baby can see them coming. If they want to raise a healthy, happy baby, they need to quit "teasing" him, leave him alone to get acclimated to being a captive tortoise.

The baby is trying to scare the big ugly monster away with his little jumps and sounds. Its not funny, its scarey.
