We starting bumping up the heat just yesterday in our hibernation fridge. The temperature has gone up not quite two degrees so I was surprised to see our girl had moved to the top of the substrate and was poking her head out when I opened her box for a weigh in. At 42 degrees!

Two weeks ago at 40ish degrees she might as well have been a rock!

This is our first hibernation so everything is a surprise to me. I knew she'd be moving around at low temps but until you see it, it's hard to picture.

That is surprising. She must be sensing the warm up.

She was active for about ten days when she first went in, at some pretty low temps, but that seemed normal from my reading.

The original plan was to bring her out around March 1, after four months. Given a change in travel my travel schedule, it will be a few days sooner. Hopefully right after this next storm passes through. I'll have a few days at home to keep an eye on her and then my husband will be here to watch her over the weekend.

I'll have to read over the hibernation threads again, make sure we haven't missed anything.
