Burrow Building

We live in So Cal and are getting a RT and I am hoping to build it a suitable outdoor burrow (protection from the heat and cold). If that is not a ridiculous idea, could someone point me to a thread about how best to go about that? I know it is probably already on this forum, but I have searched for about an hour and can't find it.

Tom's boxes are a solid, proven choice for housing Russians. A true or even near replica of a tortoise-dug burrow is not very practical.
